There wouldn't be a Greenbriar or Dish without this place. Trostel definitely knows the eating public. You can take your family here and not have to smell smoke or listen to swearing people next to you. Great family place that could use some updating though. Wish they would include more sandwiches on the dinner menu. Sometime's that's what you wan't. Especially when this seems to be a hot spot prior to ISU events. All in all, Most of the staff has been here for years, And know your name. Say hi to Mike the bartender. He's from Walkabout Creek. No problem Mate!

POOR service!! It took the waiter 25 minutes to even take our order, took another 25 minutes to get our food, OVER PRICED for what we did receive, refills are required after one drink as the glasses are so small! Would not recommend if you have kids or are in a hurry!!

Pizza good, not sure why people like burnt potato chips, but you'll like the free burnt potato chips if you do.

Always enjoyed this place. Their pizza is great. Best part is the fresh and hot, homemade chips. Consider getting one of the dips to go with them. Relaxed and open atmosphere, well lit.

All I can say...It's the pizza. If you go to Chips, the best thing is their wood fired pizza. Corned Beef Reuben, Spinach and Artichoke, Mushroom and four cheeses. They're all very good. It's also a good meeting place, if you're looking for somewhere a little different between Des Moines and Ames.
