Great food, however the prices are placed insultingly and prohibitively high. Nothing here is worth the cost, and I say that as someone who usually doesn't bother to check menu prices.

I can't believe a couple of these reviews....this is the BEST place to go for a steak in the Des Moines area, hands down. I love everything about this restaurant. The staff is great and so is the overall atmosphere. If you appreciate good food, the prices are worth it.

We recently chose this restaurant for our special New Year's Eve dinner. First we choose the calamari for appetizers and it was very good. The salads were also tasty. The main dish that was chosen by two was the crab stuffed lobster, which was best described as "ok." The service was very good, the waitstaff seemed very attentive to our needs. Overall, the experience was good - but for the money that we spent on dinner, I am not sure we will be returning.

Food is good, but atmosphere and decor is not fitting for the prices.

An excellent steak restaurant. It would rate 5 stars without a problem, except starting out our one experiece dining there, we had a problem getting a table. We had reservations, but did not get a table until an hour after the time we reserved. The food made up for the wait. Once you have a dry-aged steak, every steak thereafter is missing a certain something. The sides and salads were what you would expect from a very nice steakhouse, but not as exceptional as the steak. The atmosphere was refined, with wood floors and wood-paneled walls, but we were a tiny bit disappointed that there was a television blaring some football game nobody in the place was watching. Then there is the price: ex-pen-sive. If you are on a budget, like me, split a nice steak with your dinner date, add a couple salads, have one glass of wine apiece, then split a dessert. Otherwise, you may have buyer's remorse after the ticket arrives. It is not an every week restaurant, unless you work in the Principal Building, but it is certainly worth a visit.
