I was there twice in a month and they do have good Blood Mary's and great servers. The bugs are out of hand. They swarmed over our food the entire meal. They need to bug bomb the place after hours. The bar tenders and servers are aware of the problem but there is not much they can do about it. That is up the management and the owner. I agree they will lose business if they don't get a handle of the bug problem.

My wife and I visited AK's yesterday. We have been there a hundred times before and on a few occations there has been a problem with gnats (or fleas..not sure exactly). yesterday, they were so bad we could not keep them away from our food. As I said, they have always been present at this bar but in the past they didn't bother me that much. They need a professional exterminator Big Time!!! Our food was good, but it now makes me wonder how clean the kitchen is, we were really turned off by the bugs and may never go back. The server was great and she was well aware of the gnat issue and was just as disgusted as we were..although nothing was offered as far as anything taken off our bill etc.. They need to clean up their act or they will lose every customer.

Love the place. I'm a little biased...used to work for a Zmolek establishment and still know a few of the folks running AK's but it's walking distance on a decent day and they actually have a few decent wines (not a beer drinker) and really good prices.

M and I have lived in Beaverdale for almost a year now and just had our first experience with A.K.'s yesterday. We definately found our rainy Sunday afternoon hangout!

I'm there 3 out of four sundays- best Bloody's in town not to mention the food which is great- don't piss off Jim- if you're in good graces you're good- but he's not afraid to mock you mercilessly

Don't go on Sun am because my family and I were there today and noone acknowledged us when a server finally did she never came back with our drinks and it was disgusting. Unless you are a regular you don't get the best of service..

I just hung out at A.K.'s for the first time last night. It was a pretty good little place if you're looking to sit around with some good friends and have some good conversation. I had the SW bean dip appetizer and it was pretty good, but a small serving. But it wasn't expensive. The wait staff was pretty attentive. The jukebox was a plus.

A great local place to stop by for a pitcher - a decent patio, and they even let us bring our little dog into the patio when we stopped by on a walk. A pitcher of Woodchuck for us, and a little saucer of water for her! Got to love Beaverdale!

Ak O'Connors Beaverdale - This is an interesting little place. There have been some upgrades since last year. Two Samsung 42" Flats, A curiocabinet in the entry way to break up the open space, almost all the machines (Fruit, Big Buck Hunter, and either a Golden Tee or Bowling - I don't remember which) and the pool table received a new felt top. Beer by the pitcher is a ridiculous $5.50 for domestic. They have a pretty good kitchen that serves food. The wings are some of the best in town. All in all this is a pretty good place to hang out. The crowd is mostly student types but there are the occasional 30-40 year olds in there hanging out. Highly recommend if you want to hang out or pick up a guy or girl without the guilt of picking up someone from a bar.
