I live in Colorado and was in DesMoines on Business a year ago and stop in at the saddle. I had a great time and all of the staff is great and really makes people traveling or new in town feel welcome. Everytime I come to DesMoines I make sure that I stop and see my new friends and family at the Saddle.
Drinks are cheap, bartenders are friendly, but atmosphere is sketchy. If you are male, attractive, and under the age of 30, prepare to be leered at. Still, it's a Des Moines classic and seems like it has a lot of history behind it.

Some bartenders need to check their attitudes! We come to pay for a good time, not get the cold shoulder and be treated as if our dollars aren't good enough. Usually a fun time, hopefully just a fluke
