The food reminds me of the south, and not just south Des Moines. This is one of those eateries that you have to find, but once you do, you'll just keep coming back. Maria and Steve will always treat you right. Tell them Nathan the Asian sent you! Only drawback is that it's small, but that is part of his charm.

I have never been to a place that so many people share their food with newcomers! I walked in and asked the wait staff what was good and a few customers in the restaurant chimed in about their favorites when they come here. I tried their suggestion of the sampler platter and finished it off with the best shrimp po' boy that I have ever had! My friend introduced me to this restaurant and allowed me to use her log in. However, I can tell you...this is the place is where I could call home. Everyone was so friendly and the food topped it off!!!

The menu provides a seven-item "best of the best" of Cajun and Louisianan fare. The region's "bowl food" tradition is represented with jambalaya, gumbo and red beans and rice. Sides run the gamut from corn bread to coleslaw and Cajun-style fries.
