This experiance is by far the worst dinning experiance ever. Seated before 4 other tables. Ordered first yet one and a half hour later no food yet other tables have been served. A dish we ordered is unavailable. Of course the tabes prior to our arival was granted it. I've ate here before and I'm understandable about time, but this one is the worst. 1.5 hours and we are served.

Great place to eat, it is good to not have to go to big cities to get great quality dim sum. The price isn't too bad either. I especially like the fried riblets (I think thats what they were called), they were good, crunchy and had tasty sauce on them.

GREAT food and GREAT people. I always buy local when I can, and it's a pleasure eating at Kwong Tung. Best Crab Rangoons in the city in my opinion. My family loves it.

I am so pleased to have a Chinese restaurant in Des Moines that serves authentic Cantonese "dim sum" (appetizer style dishes to share with other diners) on Sundays (10 AM to 2 PM); there is no need to go to a big cosmopolitan metropolis like Chicago, New York or San Francisco in order to enjoy such an specialty. Variety is not as big as the ones found in a big city restaurant and the dishes have to be ordered from a menu instead of picking them from rolling carts, but dishes come from the kitchen prepared to order, hot and after a reasonable waiting time.
The service is very friendly and the owner/cook usually greets and talks to you before you leave. Requests like answering questions about ingredients in the dishes, modifying the ingredients of some of the dishes, or preparing dishes that are not in the regular menu are happily accommodated, if possible.
For those who want to have a culinary adventure but cannot travel to a big East Coast or West Coast city (or Chicago), I will recommend them to give "dim sum" at Kwong Tung Restaurant a try.

If you are looking for a great local Chinese restaurant, this is the one! Their beef fried rice is great! Their egg rolls are great! Their chicken curry is great! The sweet and sour is excellent. Locally owned and very nice!

Their Sweet and Sour Chicken is the BEST in the Des Moines area. No one can beat their sauce! If you order it for dinner it includes vegetables and pineapple. It's Excellent!

This place must have plenty of locals to keep it in business because there really are better options for quick Chinese out there. The best part of this place are the good looking waitresses, otherwise it's below average for quality of food. The prices are hard to beat though.

I wish you could rate no stars on that scale because this restaurant is horrible. The decor is too crowded and the atmosphere is dark and drab. I went at lunch and although the lunch prices are hard to beat, the food isn't. I ordered a mix of vegetables and chicken. When the order came, my plate was overflowing, literally, with sauce off of my plate, the rice was beginning to go soggy because of the main meal next to it. The food is bland and lacks flavor. If I don't like it, chances are somebody will.
