This is a tough call. As a resturant, I have to give this place a low mark. As an overall entertainment venue I would go much higher, probably in the 4+ range. Seriously, as far as comedy clubs go, this facility is pretty top notch. I admit that I've had a bite or two to eat there, but come on, who goes to a freaking comedy club to eat a delicious meal? Do yourselves a favor and grab a bite to eat at a nice , comfortable sit-down joint and then catch a late show at the funybone.
I can't see how anyone can rate this over a 1. I wish you could give a 0. I dont even know where to start. Seating is terrible staff all have a chip on their shoulder from the begining and then i meet their Owner/ Manger wow that explains the chip on your shoulder, i feel so sorry for the employees. you should all run as fast you can.
I love this place its so fun I bet the people bitching got picked on LOL
I have never had such ridiculous service. We arrived at 9pm to get a good sit instead we was sat at the door. Just the beginning... my party never got a drink or food . The excuse the waitress gave us she had trouble with customers magic that LMAO..My company will now shred anything from the funny bone..Ratings FF
The problem with this place is lack of competing comedy venues within a reasonable distance. Let's face it: DSM is geographically impaired. The staff can be ok on occasion, but more often, they act like middle school hall monitors. The management probably makes them behave this way.
Gr8 headliner (Etta May) LMAO. Management/owner, bouncer, bartenter & waitress = Grade F
All of the above lack professionalism & customer service. The bartender/waitress had an attitude from the word go. When I asked why I was charged for water (yes...they charge 4 WATER!) she gave me a really snide "you didn't order it from me". Meanwhile my wife had ordered two beers but because I didn't order anything, I was charged for my water. Folks, this is ONLY the tip of the iceberg. I'm AMAZED these folks even stay in business. I'm sure it's b/c of the talent they bring in...NOT b/c of their customer service!! We had family next to us & they were just as appalled as to the treatment we rec'd. I'm telling all my friends, family & everyone at work. We will NEVER step foot in that establishement again!
M and I were there last Thrusday for a show. Food was okay and service was good. The show part was hilarious. The headliner was excellent, opening act was a bit off but I have seen him do better at prior visit.
The place has to be a fire trap as many people as were packed into the place. I was not at all impressed with my experience there and do not plan on returning. It was such a bad experience I left before the entertainment was finished.
Get a Funny Bone Long Island. Or three.
Get Evan Favreau drunk and watch him yell at the comics. Again.
Best time you can have in Des Moines. The staff is awesome too.
Horribly rude establishment who is okay with it's comedians gay bashing and calling women bitches, but kicks out patrons for no reason. We will never recommend or go back to this business!
Note all of your group has to be here before they will seat you. No holding tables!
Omg. Bobby lee was funny and beyond. His show almost made me cried I laughed so hard.
Try the signature Long Island!!
