I have to agree with Jeff, it's not worth your time to try this place. Dirty and worn out with very marginal food, and terrible service. Save your $30!

For all the bad reviews against Fireside, I encourage you to try Fireside again, If you want the best and biggest breaded tenderloin in Des Moines, it is at Fireside. Our breaded walleye is also excellent. And everyone knows us for are homeade cheeseburger soup. Any future complaints and any problems, please let management know.

Do not give this place your business. My wife ate here during lunch time and they had to ask for their table to be cleaned, had to wait an HOUR AND A HALF to get their food, had to go to the bar to get drinks refilled, had to ask for ketchup, and had to get their own "to go" box for leftovers. VERY POOR! Due to the poor service, my wife did not leave a tip. However, she used a debit card and upon reviewing the debit that cleared through our bank account, we found that they apparently added their own tip (roughly 20%)!!!!! She was only in a group of five, so there were no automatic gratuities. These guys are crooks!!!!

I have had wonderful service everytime I have gone to the Fireside. They food is excellent. My favorite is the cheeseburger soup. The management is very friendly, the servers are also. If you have not tried eating at the Fireside I do recommend eating there.

My experiences at Fireside have been average and that's in terms of the service I've had and the menu items we bought. I have a distinct hunch Brad is A.) one disgruntled employee who doesn't like his boss. B.) one former employee who was fired. C.) one incompetent former employee who quit because his bosses did not give him choice hours/sections. Brad, not everybody is meant for being a restaurant employee, and I recommend getting back into school so you don't need to fall back on restaurant jobs. I recommend a Composition course while you're at it.

Place has cheap food, bad service, to smoky, and ignorant employees. Service has gone downhill within the last year, and like I said the food is way cheap and poorly put together. Management is incompetent in how to run a successful business. They knowingly let underage minors smoke and drink in their bar just so they can make money. Karaoke is horrible and a waste ot time to listen to. Even police officers that came in practically daily won't come in anymore because of the business operations. If you want to come pay to much money for food that won't make you happy, whats the point of going out to eat. I will never go back, mainly because of incompetent management.

The rating says it all. Food was average at best. This might be a great place to work on your buzz, but you should eat before you leave the house. Server did a good job and was very polite, I wish I could say the same for the hostess who seated us. I just asked to be seated away from the bar and was given the attitude...should have left then. We won't be back.

Use to frequent this bar and grill for supper at least one times per week. The service has taken a large dive for the worst. The food for example the last two times the salad has looked good on top but underneath it has been brown. When asked to have another salad the waiter/waitress acts as if we commited a crime. LOTS of teens frequent the bar, concerned with underage drinking and allowing teenage smoking. I would eat here only if I was starving.

This is not a bad little place to hangout. There is karoke on a night I don't remember. There's a couple games of Silverstrike Bowling. There is one pool table and a couple Fruit Bonus machines. The service has been spotty on the nights I've gone there. I almost invariably go and get the drinks myself because no one comes and checks after the first pitcher is gone. The crowd is always a mixed one but everyone seems to have fun. All in all, I think this place is nice and cozy and the food is decent. Typical bar and grill but cleaner. I judge cleanliness based on bathrooms.

I am a repeat customer who goes back because of the excellent food and service! Reasonably prices and great entertainment and atmosphere. A great place to watch your favorite sports.
