| Details » | The Cabaret Nightclub (scheduled to open November 1, 2006) is a large nightclub in the West Glen Town Center.
Guests will have an opportunity to hang out on the 1200 square foot patio, which is not just any patio. This patio has radiant heat built into the flooring, surrounding glass walls, and also includes a floor to ceiling fireplace for enjoyment throughout the Iowa winters. The inside of the 3400 square foot club is non-smoking and offers a number of cozy atmospheres to choose. The bar is 50 feet long and extends all the way onto the patio, offering a neighborhood bar feel. The Cabaret Nightclub also has a private party room with full bar service and another fireplace. Guests are able to reserve this room for special events. The Cabaret Nightclub will cater to both smokers and non-smokers. The interior will be completely smoke free, however the four-season patio will provide a place for smokers to enjoy. "This bar is an accumulation of comments and recommendations made by customers of The Cab Lounge in Johnston and the Cabaret Lounge in Clive. I hope for this to become the destination place, complete with unbelievable décor," said Cabaret Night Club owner Tim Kellogg. Cabaret Night Club will offer an array of drink options including 20 Tap Beers, 100 Import and Domestic Bottles, over 200 liquors, as well as a scotch and wine list. Cabaret will also feature a new Martini book designed to look like a martini glass setting upon each table. The book will include 26 new martini recipes all cleverly named after the “Rat Pack” era from Deano’s Dream to Sammy’s Glass Eye. Cabaret will be committed to exceptional customer service and each drink will be made to the guests’ satisfaction. Cabaret will offer a loyalty program through its’ VIP Rewards Card. Each guest will have their own card and receive benefits with each visit. To go along with the delicious new drink menu, will be an upscale Hors’ Duerves menu. The menu will feature items like Spinach and Artichoke dip, Shrimp, and Beef Teriyaki Skewers. With the addition of these new dining options, guests will be able to enjoy an entire evening at Cabaret West Glen – without feeling the need to leave to grab a bite to eat. The new Cabaret Night Club will be located in the Performance of the Arts building located at 560 S Prairie View Drive in West Glen Town Center. It is directly North off Mills Civic Parkway and Interstate-35. The Performance of the Arts building is the “play” part of West Glens motto – “Work, Live, Play, Shop.” It is located in the center of the building soon to be nested between the new Funny Bone Comedy Club and Kinfolks Barbeque. |

I was there last night and i had four friends with me. We all ordered something of the menu and when we recieved our food nothing not even the cheese bread was cooked all the way through! we complained to the waitress as nice as we could because know one cared it wasn't a big deal, what do you do when food is cooked wrong you know? you send it back and they bring you something else.we waited three hours for the girl to return and by the time we left i had still not recieve everything that was included in my meal. Not one person apologized for anything and when we left we had to eat elsewhere.

I visited on 5/5/2007 and I agree with the other poster that I was disappointed with having to walk through the smoking 4-season patio in order to get to the non-smoking interior. It was packed all over and we did not see a waitress or waiter walking around. All we could see that it was wall to wall people. We walked around the place for a few minutes then left to go to Tonic where at least we could get a seat and a drink. It reminded me of Drink and I don't go there either. I had high expectations of the place based on the other comments. There were no open seating and the interior smelled like the patio as the door was frequently open. Where was the staff, the smell of food, the tables????? My friend and I were previewing the site as a place to come for her bachelorette in a few months. We will be going to the Johnston Cab instead. I gave it 0.5 stars as it has potential if the owners fix the issues with the staff, seating and patio.

The idea of a SMOKE-FREE bar is great IF that we true about this bar. Real GREAT that us non-smokers have to walk through the smoking area to enter the bar and then again to exit the bar. How much sence does that make? Could someone running the bar answer that question for me? How about a smoke-free enterance for the non-smokers!!!!! Unless something changes, we won't be back.

This is the "sister" bar to my favorite place, The cAb. And I must say to have a smoke-free option in West Des Moines is fantastic. I love the atmosphere; it is fun, modern with a twist of art deco. It is pretty laid back and very clean.
If you are into live performances they have a lot of the good local bands playing on the intimate stage. Or if you are into sports, they do have televisions around the entire place for your enjoyment.
As for the drinks, they have an amazing selection of martinis and the ones I've tried were made perfectly. And even though the bar is non-smoking, they offer an awesome heated patio for smokers, best of both worlds.
The service is a little touch and go at times, but it is still pretty new, so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt.
I absolutely love this place and hope they keep expanding.

All can say is I love walking through a smokey patio to get to a smoke free bar...that was a smart move. I WALKED IN WAITED 20 MIN. FOR A DRINK AND THEY WERE NOT EVEN BUSY! I felt like I was in a maze the booth I sat in was way small for my 185 lb. frame what a terrible layout did this guy have his 5yr.old pull out the colors and say ok here it is ...what a joke! And why serve food if it tastes like crap we had 2 diff. apps they were both cold and mooshy yuck ... OH'WELL I wish them luck their going to need it!!!

I love the decor. It was sleek, stylish, and sophisticated. The four-seasons patio with fireplace is a great addition. It makes for fun atmosphere. The indoor smoke-free environment is a refreshing break away from irritating smoke-filled bars. It's a plus to have smoking in the patio area for those who want to light up with a drink. It is trully one of a kind. The various seating arrangements are a huge plus. I would like to see a few more items on the appetizer menu. The egg-rolls, spinach-dip, and shrimp-cocktail were great! The extended martini list is the best I've seen in town.......
