just to let you all know the bar maddys place is no longer there or a friendly bar .it is called cattors now and maddy no longer owes it and with the previous owner leaving so did some of the friendliness . the people who work there are rude and if you are not a regular at "their" bar they tend to give poor service and an even worse attitude .if you want to go to a bar and have fun no matter who you are or where you come from this is not the place

It's a neighborhood bar; a little tavern owned by an Irish guy and managed by a sassy young lady. The parking is so-so, unless you're there on a Friday or Saturday night, in which case there is no parking at all. If it were a retail outfit or apartment building, that'd be a bad thing, but since it's a bar, you know when the parking lot's full, there's something awesome going on inside.

Maddy's Place is small inside, but they manage to have a dance floor, a DJ booth, games and a pool table, along with a nicely-sized bar and plenty of seating. Prices are reasonable: high enough that you know you're not getting a shot full of crap, low enough that you can afford to stay awhile. The bartenders are friendly and fast, and they mix a perfect drink every time. Happy Hour is probably the best deal in town - double bubble on everything, I think, and instead of serving you two drinks at a time (one of which gets watered down or flat while you work on the first one), they give you a token that you can use anytime.

The karaoke/DJ shows are the most fun, energetic, adrenaline-fueled in the city, bar-none. First, you have to prepare yourself for the extreme hotness of the DJs, Clint and Ryan. Seriously. Most people are at least attractive, if not very attractive, but these two are disarmingly, wickedly HOT. You have to be mentally prepared because one look at either of them will send most people into shock. Trust me...I've seen it happen.

Oh, they play pretty great music, too. A nice, diverse mix of stuff, plus karaoke (they don't play favorites with singers, either...very refreshing) and FLAVA! Ryan dances around like he's the star of his very own Broadway musical (if you catch him on a "Royce" night, you have so lucked out). Clint - well, Clint doesn't really have to DO anything but sit there and look pretty, but he's a bomb DJ anyway. And his whitebred rap covers with bartender Big Will are perennial crowd-pleasers. These guys will make sure you dance, drink and get crazy all night long, Wednesday through Saturday.

Drink specials during karaoke are pretty great - $2 Captains and $1.75 draws on domestics. Maddy's Place has some kind of special or event going on every night of the week, so even if you're not into karaoke/live DJ stuff, check out their pasta bar on Mondays or sporting events, or just stop in for Happy Hour.

And tell them Chris Love sent you. It probably won't score you anything free, but...well, it might score ME something free!
