I really only hang out here in the fall during Iowa games. This is where the polk county I-club meets on game day. It's a great place to watch football and the food is not to bad. They have a lot of TVs and a ticker above the bar that displays scores throughout the day. It gets packed during Iowa games so get there early or you'll be standing in the back

This is one of the dirtiest bars in Des Moines. Place reeks of cigarette smoke, bathrooms are nasty.

Biggest sports bar with the most TVs. 22 beers on tap with the normal assortment of bar foods. Killer deal on thursday nights with $2.99 all you can eat wings. Must go destination for the big games. NOTE: If your an Iowa fan and they are playing a big game Arrive EARLY

Third Base is a fun place to meet your friends to watch sporting events. There are 7 big screens with over 20 other tvs. It is the typical mid scale sports bar, very similar to Buffalo Wild Wings, but the food is not nearly as good. There are 3 pool tables in the back part. There are actually two bars but they only use the front one. If you are going to go there, sit close to the bar or you WILL NOT get served properly. I timed it and it was a full 12 minute difference in average serve time from front area close to the bar and back. You'd think they would open the back bar when the back area is full of people. There is a basketball area to shoot hoops but the hoop is crooked. Golden Tee and Bowling Machines galore. It is connected to Vieux Carre dance club, so you will see some Prime A going in and out of the place on the weekend. The ceilings are high so you don't notice the smoking and your clothes won't smell like hell. All in all a decent place to watch sports, you can be loud as you want cheering for your crappy team and make friends with most anyone within 5 feet of you. Good looking waitresses, and if you like asians, they have one there that every Asian lover wants.
